Default After draining all the coolant from the engine. ....m

and before unbolting the turbo from the exhaust manifold. I am not meaning to be a smart-*** by my post, if I missed the point, please advise.

Default Got hose pinch clamps?

If not, you probably want to drain off the coolant before removing the lines.

The lower coolant line, people tend to remove it from the engine block, and then off the turbo, once the turbo is off.

I used a set of hose pinch clamps, and pinched off the coolant lines(top & bottom) to reduce the coolant loss. Then once I had the turbo unbolted from the manifold, turned it slightly, then removed the lower coolant line. Leaving it bolted to the engine block.

You can see the clamp on my lower coolant line in this picture

Remove heat shield on right of cylinder head.

Pull off hose at vacuum unit for charge pressure control valve on turbocharger.

Unfasten sleeve on coolant return hose. (lower arrow)

Default Sorry, I thought the coolant return line was on the underside of the turbo - I'm confused

I've already removed the blue pipe cited in your photo.

Okay, I guess my question is really, where does the lower coolant line attach to the block?

Default Please accept my apologies for the confusing reply posts! I must have been in a "Spin Cycle"..

at the time!
Actually, that is the last time I allow anyone to use my computer while I am away servicing the local Amazons. I was impostured! Really!

All attempts at humor to offset my embarrassment aside, I left the forum expecting your question was answered, only to return later and see that I was confused in hind sight. That's worse than being confused at the time in question, because there is no hope of heading off the looming "train wreck" results of the effort that wasn't helpful after all. :>\
