Any idea on how to remove the interior aluminum trim (1.8)? Would a shop manual have this info?

Interesting, a repair manual on CD. Anyone sell it cheaper than $100? =)

Default Nope! Believe it or not, that aluminum trim dents easily...

Doinked it with the corner of a clipboard, and now there's a crease in the trim directly above the glovebox.

Default Ok, there are four bolts for that piece (more)

You "carefully" remove (unclip) the plastic trim above the center console - it's the piece above the cupholder/ESP/etc section (there are two bolts behind this piece for the trim). Then, pull off the right cover of the dash, which is the side panel that faces the passenger side door (there is one bolt behind this piece for the trim). Now, the fourth bolt is to the upper right of the steering column, below where the trim ends at it. It looks like you have to remove the plastic panel to get to it, but I'm not positive from the illustrations.

I was hoping to purchase an OEM aluminum piece to replace it. I need to call Audi on Monday.
