Default Doc: This could be a couple of things:

1) It could be a broken sipe (the groove) mold when the tires were processed. Did this just happen and/or are the tires new?
2). Was any hard braking done at anytime where the fronts locked up?

There is a possibility the Michelin might replace them if you inquire. You might want to check for a Michelin dealer in your area or find a zone representative.

Default The car and tyres are 16 months old

it seemed to feather at first, then gradually get to the stage its at now, There hasnt really been much hard braking and its not suddenly appeared, its been getting to this stage.
Only got 6700 miles on it.
The rear two are also slightly like that... hmm, if they were all from the same batch, then maybe it could be tyre problem...

If stuff isnt felt at the steering wheel, does that mean it wouldnt be the alloy wheels themselves?

Ill try and get a good front on shot but hmm, yeah, it seems like progressive wear, not just one hard braking, I can just see hassles with the suspension or something.
