Default Any one clone an ECU yet?? Immobilizer III stuff . . .

Has anyone gone to the dealer and had their ECU cloned onto a new or used one?? Our cars have the Immobilizer III system which does not allow ECU swaping unless they are cloned and are matched to the cluster. Anyone do this yet???

Default I thought Immobilizer was in the instrament cluster

according to our audi tech thats where it is, It should not matter if you switch the ECU.

Default Don't you need to go to the dealer each time you want to swap the ECU?

Since VAG-COM does not currently support adaptation for the 2002+ A4's. I guess once they have the capability, all we would need to do is to get the SKC from the dealer.

Default I do . . . just picked one up from a totaled '02 "F" box.

same as mine, and most 2002's. Now I need to clone my original ECU onto this one.

Default ecu is coded to the cluter of the car, either one can be cloned

read the ross tech article I linked to. go back a page from there are they write about cloning a cluster as well.
