Default any pointers for developing a sense of the rear of the car for parking, backing up etc.

I am a new Audi A4 owner, and am willing to ask the following dumb question, in the hope that I will learn something from responses. As anyone who drives the new A4 knows, it is not possible for a driver to see the rear dimensions of the car (ie., the location of the back or rear right corner) when backing up. Any pointers as to how you all have developed a sense of where the invisible rear dimensions of the car are and how you judge this when parking or backing up?

Thanks!

Default Just park by ear..........J/k

just do some backups at your house and get out and judge when you can tell that you are close and soon you will get used to the size of the car.

Default When you are parked, find visual queues

Check the side mirrors, what you see out the rear window and see if you can get a sense of how close things are based on what you see. Didn't pay much attention to this until your post. Guess the parktronic option isn't so dumb after all. Don't know if it can be installed after delivery or not.

Default Slowly back up to a wall. A BANG! - means 1" too close ;-) Just kidding... You don't wanna do

that to a new A4. I don't think anybody can give you a tip. What you see, only (OK, mostly) depends on your height and seat position. Look at your usual cues (or pick a new one). Move you seat forward/back or up/down - your cue ("marked spot") is gone... It's that simple.
It's really "by ear" as others said.
