a lady in new jersey sued them because they sent her home without putting any oil in the car after they drained it and her engine seized. perhaps it's an isolated incident but the story is true.

Default Friends don't let friends go to Jiffy Lube........

For one thing you should aways use a factory oil filter they have an internal pressure relief valve, if the filter fails the valve will open and allow oil to still flow, albeit unfiltered, most, less expensive filters, have no such valve if the filter fails no oil flows and can cause serious engine damage. I know, I've seen it happen. Chris

Default Would you let Kevorkian look after a sick relative?

Maybe not that bad, but there's nothing like having a mechanic you trust.

Default There have been a few stories about drain plugs getting cross threaded. New oil pan.

Both Jiffy and Wal-Mart/K-Mart.

Why would you want to do it ? Audi covers most if not all changes. If you are going to change your oil more often than factory spec ( not a bad thing after car is broken in ), and don't want to use the dealer, find a good independent Audi/VW shop.
