Thanks for the link, Chekm8. I always wondered about that Porsche and thought it could be a sister company of VW. I guess it isn't.

Chrysler/Merc don't share that many parts yet - Merc seats good. Saab/Volvo tend to be best.

Default Thanks for all the comments below- a big help:

I know what you mean about the center intrusion on the leg- I kinda like it on the old A-6. I agree about harder saeats, I was actually more concerned about the seats than the ride (slight distinction) Actually- the ride was a concern to I didn't know if the smaller vehicke would be jouncier.

MB lends its parts out to Chrysler but not the other way around. MB seats = comfortable on trips

Default I drove xcountry from CA to NJ in 4 days

and my *** wasn't sore one bit although I was a bit stiff after those 12 hour drives

My daily commute is 110 miles round trip and I routinely cover all of So Cal (San Diego to LA) in a day. The A4 front cabin never feels cramped - road noise is o.k. - I would guess better than the Highlander.
