Anybody know why Audi.......?

I've read in the past that many of the programming tricks in the different revisions of the ECU code are done specifically to trap tuners and make modifications more difficult. If we accept this as fact, my argument remains the same... Audi doesn't want people messing with their cars and if it has become more difficult to do so, then maybe that's their point.
PS, I'm just playing a little devil's advocate based on what I've read (mostly here). If I'm wrong, someone will correct me...

"Power is nothing without control"
Audi has the control.
Why not the power?
*in his best Cartman voice*
GOD DAMMIT AoA!!! Get with th fu*king program.

Also, why would AoA make it easier for you to make your $30K car go faster when they can sell you a faster car for $40K? It's all about profit in the end, so the enthusiast loses out.
Once again, I'm just playing the devil's advocate for AoA.

06B 133 551M 2002 A4 with Sequential fuel injection running 11 PSI Boost
06B 133 551M 2001 Passat with multi point injection running 11 PSI Boost
The 2002 A4 Euro spec is still only 110KW (150HP) they use the same Senquential injection
The program has not change lay out since 2000 DBW the configurations of the maps are the same lay out
The DBW programs use multi layered checksum algorithms every model year they seem to be activating more and more checksum algorithms If the algorithms are not calculated properly , some models don't start, some idle a 500 rpm and don't rev some work fine about 10 starts and then lock the ECU

http://www.greedspeed.com</a

1K for more power.
Think about it. How much would it cost Audi to produce a 40 hp chip? MUCH less than APR/GIAC/etc. Audi's profit on a factory chip should be through the roof.
