I am ready to buy my 1.8TQMS. Perhaps this weekend. If not, next weekend for sure!
I have only called one dealership so far... the best deal they'd offer was $500 off MSRP. OUCH!!
If you bought your A4 in SoCal, had a good experience, and got a good deal, can you post your dealership and salesperson's name as a recommendation? I don't want to waste alot of time. I just want a fair deal ($1000 over invoice sounds fair. no?).
I know exactly what I want, have excellent credit (2.9% APR here I come!), and don't even have a trade-in to worry about. I just want a quick, fair, professional experience.
I live in O.C. but I'll go as far South as San Diego or as far North as Ventura.
Let's hear those stories!

I bought mine from The Auto Gallery. Michael Cha was the sales guy and the price I got it for was good. 2.9%? I think that's only if you're planning to finance the car for 2yrs. Good luck.

in Santa Ana, and Keyes in Van Nuys. You might also check with Steve Taub in Santa Monica, Pacific in Torrance, or Newport Beach Audi. However, these dealers are smaller ones and may not be willing to deal as much, unless they are really hurting. It could go either way.
Hope this helps.

You can also speak to Richard Jones at the Auto Gallery or Neil at McKenna ( managers ) - they'll assign you a salesperson. All are pros. That doesn't mean the lowest price, but it does mean a fair price and good service with no BS.
Dealers rarely drop their pants in negotiation on the phone. They know you are going to take their number and shop it around. You want them to commit to the lowest price, without commiting anything yourself. Better to look them in the eye and know each of you are serious.
Every dealer has good and bad salespeople. The good ones rarely hang out in front and smoke. That is why I gave you specific names.
You can also call, ask to speak to the sales manager, have them put you in contact with an Audi Brand Specialist ( AoA trained salesperson - every dealer has at least one ). You can also go into the service dept, and ask the service manager who they would buy a car from. They see what promises get kept, and which get broken.

For those still seeking extended advice and test drives, a salesperson is whom they'll end up with.
I think Manfred is now training for sales manager, but still does sales on the side for his former clients and referrals.

Got a 03' 1.8T, tip, quattro, sports, premium, xenon just last Saturday from David Illya, Rusnak Pasadena. $1000 over invoice. But only after I threatened to go to another dealer. Another good thing about Rusnak was their large selection, especially compared to Santa Monica.
