Anyone with a 3.0 and TIP had to have a failing torque converter replaced?

$4300 quote from the dealer.

Default Here; mine was replaced under warranty. The dealer told me it'd cost roughly that much...

if I had to pay for it.

What kind of symptoms does a failing/failed torque converter cause?

Mine threw a CEL and the TC refused to lock up (almost CVT like)

Mine does the same. I can pamper it and get the lockup, but loose it eventually
