Default Anyone with 8.5Jx18 wheels and 235 tires?

I'd like to see a rearshot that shows how the alloy lines up to the rubber. I hope there is some rubber left to protect the rim if I ever hit a curb, but I doubt it.

Thanks.

Default I can't tell you for sure but I doubt there will be much protection. Unless you go with a tire that

has a good lip protector. Then you may have a chance. I suggest the Toyo T1-S or Bridgestone S-03. Those tires definitely have very good lip protectors. My 2 cents.

I run 235s on 8"s w/tire rim protector lip and the wheel protection is scant at best, FWIW.

Really? I saw some 225 S-03s on a 8" wheel and the protection looked pretty good. Hmm?

Default You want 245 for protection on 8.5"wide rims BUT you will scrape on the back if your lowered. So ..

I suggest 235s and just drive careful! =)

I guess it is subjective on what wheel protection is.

How does the 235/8" compare?

I'll snap a pic later. I did get a little wheel contact already though. Little damage.

Default 235 tires on a 8.5 are perfect.

Ideally, you want a vertical sidewall and that's what you'll get. If you want the tire to bulge out a little, 245 would be a better bet on the 8.5" rim.

Another thing to remember is that the tire width will also vary from brand to brand, and model to model. The Bridgestone S03's are well known for being one of the widest tires in any given size. A 225 S03 will we comparable in width to most other 235 tires. I would still go with a 235 S03 on an 8.5" rim.
