Anyone currently use or used to use Bridgestone Blizzaks?
I've heard mixed reviews. Some people love them, others hate them. Saw a set up on ebay in 225/40/18 for my possible Sportec winter wheels. TIA for reviews

Theres two different kinds of blizzaks...
Dedicated snow blizzaks and performance winter blizzaks.
I had blizzak ws-50s on my old front wheel drive car. I can say with confidence that these are some of the aboslute best snow tires that money can buy. They turned my car from a straight up hazard into an complete tank in the snow. Never once did I feel like I was going to get stuck or out of control with these tires. They are really, really good in the snow. The downfall is that they suck on dry roads. They don't handle well at all and the tread gets eaten alive unless theres snow.
I've got blizzak lm-25s on my new audi. These are bridgestones performance winter tires. Designed to handle speed and perform well on dry roads. They're good in the snow and I feel confident with them, but they definitely don't compare to the snow/ice traction I got with the ws-50s. If I push it super hard around corners I can get the tires to slide out pretty easily. They're predictable and grab hard again right away, it's just that my old ws-50s were like glue regaredless of how crappy conditions were. The lm25's are very good on dry roads though. They handle almost as well as my summer tires and seem like they'll have good tread life too.
All in all I have nothing but good things to say about blizzaks and would recommend them to anyone. It's just a matter of choosing the right ones for the conditions in your area. Driving on mostly snow covered roads=ws-50. Driving mostly on dry roads=lm25.

I run the LM25v in 225/17, and I have been extremely impressed with how the car handles in ice/snow
They are not louder than should be expected for snow tires, and they seem to wear pretty well as long as you dont drive too hard on them. They are a little expensive, and in retrospect, I should have gone with the LM22w. The main difference being the speed rating and I dont think I am ever going to use the full speed rating on them.
On the other hand, I have heard a lot of people who like their Dunlop M3 tires. I dunno, it seems like a toss up to me.

had em on my scoob..
Fantastic on ice/snow, but burn up like race tires in the dry.. Also easy to flat spot in the dry.
This was a few years ago, but at that time, great for bad conditions, but only for bad conditions.
