The magazines although intrigued when viewing the S60R in a vacum, have not been gushing in their praise when compared to other brands like the S4 or M3. Think of it as maybe B5 S4 lite ;-) Or a Viggen with extra driven wheels ;-)

Every Volvo I've driven is just not up to the dynamic abilities of the big time players in the feild. Not bad cars mind you, just not competitive on a sophisticated performance level.

at Shea Stadium. As a 6-time Audi owner I was pretty impressed. The active suspension was nice, but the best times were had with the comfort mode on (softest). Power was impressive, but there was plenty of lag. Awesome brembo brakes. Seats were too soft and lacked support. At $36,800 (base) this car is a steal, but at $43K it has more competition. I drive a sport pkg A4 and I've had 2 B5 S4s and I really liked the S60R. It's a lot of car for the $$, but it's still a Volvo. Also, it is being sold in limited numbers so they won't be too common. Overall I would take it over an A4 3.0, but not a B6 S4. Just my .02.
