My 02 Avant body seems to be very flexible and there are lots of squeaks and groons from the rear on the rough San Francisco Streets. It sounds like the body and the rear seats, or the rear sunshade holder are moving against each other. Anyone else have this problems and any solutions

I haven't experience any excessive noise (except for our APR exhaust). We're at 23,000 miles (in NC) and still loving the newness of this car. It could be the cold weather that makes the interior noisy. Body flex on the streets of S.F., as you imply, may be another factor. SF streets are not noted for their smoothness.

...pretty sure it's the rear seat squeak that everyone complains about. A search will give you some fix-it tips if that's what your issue is.
I don't really have any flex-type squeaks other than that, tho.

Mine was screaking like mad, took it to the dealer, they fixed it while I waited, and it's been tight like new ever since (5 days). I'm convinced it's over.

I wiped down all the door seals with 303 Aerospace cleaner (or some sort of rubber cleaner/protectant). The car sounds like new again!

I've seen this in several cars. Most noticable in the dash materials. They skrink and squeak etc until they get warm again. Then they expand tighten up the gaps.

the latching mechanism on the passenger rear seat. People here have talked about lubing it up or going as far as to replace the rear seat frame. My dealer took care of mine this week, they greased up the latching/locking mechanism somehow. I'm hoping this solves it because it was maddening before, but have seen someone on here for whom that was only a temporary fix. So I'll give mine a couple days/weeks & cross fingers!
