Default My father was going to do that for one of his cars..

but he wanted to get rid of it before the insurance needed to be renewed, and he didn't really care about how much he got for it. Not sure if he actually sold the car yet, though.

Default i have. was a 1.5 year old jetta vr6 automatic,black

pretty much a woman's perfect buy car.

they gave us (right before the market fell out) about 8% less than KBB trade-in, which was much more generous than the dealer 15% below KBB trade-in value.

car has to be pretty much stock and in damn good condition. you will get screwed regardless. I had to remove something, maybe a sway bar or something back to stock or they wouldnt take it. really **** about being stock. i'm surprised they didnt mind the illegal tint job lol.

better off listing the car for +$500 over their offer if you are in dire needs to move the car.

p.s. we listed it in most every venue online and almost traditional paper but the costs started to pile up. The new 330ci was arriving from customs so after 2-3 months of sitting on it (insurance, tag renewal coming up) it was logical to cut the losses.

Default Hmmm so they pretty much go off the trade-in value of KBB huh

No hope to find a happy medium between private party value and trade in?
