Default Anyone have experience with Progressive for insurance?

My policy is coming up for renewal. I checked into Progressive just to shop and they are over $200 per 6 months cheaper than my current. That's like having a free 1.5 car payments every year just by switching and it is hard to pass up. Most of the price difference is in the collision and comprehensive coverages. Does anyone know what their policy is on using your own body shop? Are there restrictions on using OEM parts? Thanks!

i went from $599 (state farm)every 6 months to $395 progressive for lease policy with same deductable (500) and 125% payment if totaled (gap protection). no claim yet but here they come to you and try to settle and write you a check on the spot.to me savings are worth the potential problems. hell, i was with state farm 12 years, no claims, and they still kept raising premium. **** on em.

Default Check on the spot... hmmm

seems like they are trying to get you a check before you figure out how much your car is actually worth. I have State Farm and it is expensive, but the one time I made a claim they really came through. I had a 1994 90 CS that I just bought for 14,000 and State Farm cut me a check for $19,000. So you do get what you pay for.

The other guy's insurance was Progressive and they kept calling me (instead of my insurance company) to try to settle. Had to keep telling them to get bent.

Default I use them..I was in many accidents with my civic (none my fault), and they were cool everytime...

didn't matter if I wanted to use oem parts or aftermarket parts. Word to the wise though, they will come out to the accident asap, but never accept the check right on the spot, you never know if there is more damage then meets the eye. Best to let the body shop give the final figures.
