I have them, but toned down A LOT!
I have two LEDs per front footwell. If nobody is sitting in the passenger seat, you can barely tell that there are lights there. If someone is sitting there, the light reflects off their pants/shoes, etc and it has a nice red soft glow. I bought the Audi red LEDs and it's a soft, classy glow.
I got jealous of my mom's E class that has stock footwell ambient lighting and got my LEDs from eBay.

all my interior dome/accent lights are red, but my maplights are still white
i then messed with the wiring to make the maplights independant of the dome lights so they only turn on when you press the buttons
