Default Bourbon Street is fun but one over (Dauphine?) is alternative...

...not that there's anything wrong with that. There's a really great Irish pub (live music - a wee bit republican, lad) and a place near by with great Jumbalaya. Check out the places over by the river where the locals all line up to eat (it had upper story balconies and was just down the street from the big church - Decatur?).

Don't forget to get the Beignets!

Default Here is some info on hot spots.

Hey Man,
I live in Houston, and go there quite a bit.

For a Bar- Go to Pat O'Brians @ 718 St Peter St, New Orleans, LA
(504) 525-4823

For Some Good Live Music...Mid City Lanes @ 4133 S Carrollton Ave, New Orleans, LA
504.482.3133

And For Clubbin- Ambersand @ 1100 Tulane Ave., New Orleans, LA
(504) 587-3737

That should take care of you. And dont forget Burbon St. and The French Qtr.

Default Tipatinas is great for breakfast

Might check out preservation hall, its pretty sweet. Definately go to Pat O'Brian's and get some hurricanes, and check out the flaming fountain.

Load up on beads :-)

Default Here's another....

If you want to check out a laid back place for some killer raw oysters and Dixie beer, check out the Acme Seafood Shop. Also, if you're into the supernatural stuff, take one of the hokey ghost tours. The Quarter is full of interesting building with great histories.

It is pronounced "N'Orlins" or "NOR-LENZ". They like to correct you on that too

Default Raised and born there..Here's a little info:

1.Go to Port a Call Restaraunt, best damn cheeseburgers..drinks..ever.

2.Hit the French Quartes for some Beignets(hmmmm)

3.Get...I repeat...get a hot sausage sandwich.

4.Go to a popeyes, and determine yourself if there's a difference.

5.Eat some crawfish, and a shrimp po-boy.

6.Lock your doors.
