Default According to the guy that did my install, Audi combined a lot of wires in the design of the B6

Somehow, this made arming the factory alarm with the remote impossible. I can still lock the doors with the key (and the alarm light blinks).

Default Wires are "combined" by using the CAN bus. It's two wires that communicate...

...via a serial protocol to intelligent controllers and peripherals on the bus. It makes adding things more complicated because the master controller has to "know" what's there, how to talk with it, and how to handle its responses.
