Default How about putting a small piece of translucent tape over the sensors.

Doesn't turn it off entirely, but reduces the effect by a great deal. You can also use opaque tape to eliminate it.

Default Probably drives in Atlanta...

where the idiots forget that they are driving in utter darkness, and don't have THEIR lights on. Hard to see those genetic defects when the mirrors are dimmed.

Default I filled the sensor recess with black silicone rubber.

.
In heavy traffic, with the outside mirrors dimmed, I had major blind spots on both sides of the car.

(Just remember that it is the mirror-side sensor that you want to block, not the back-side one)
