Anyone know how to disable the auto-dimming mirror? April?

Default And nobody uses turn signals to change lanes because...

if you do, you'll get blocked in.

Where is the sensor? On the A6 it's easy to find. Where on the A4?

It's located at the top center of the rear view mirror - the small, nonreflective, round spot

One way to temporarily disable it:
turn on passenger side reading light. This will balance the light for the sensor and will disable the dimming function. The reading lights are fairly direct and will not bother driver too much.

Actually, I think it's programmed to disable dimming if an interior light is turned on

Default The reason I say this is that even if I cover the light, it remains undimmed (more)

I figured that they were smart enough to realize that lights from other cars aren't really going to blind you if you have an interior light on already.

Also, it is disabled if reverse is selected.

Default There is a connector for it under the cable channel, but it will disable the compass (more)

at the same time as dimming if you disconnect it (if you have the compass).
