Default If you mean a direct swap, probably not. Transverse vs longitudinal orientation.

Lot of stuff is very different.

Default Well how do you know what your getting from a junk yard.

If you buy a used turbo you will need to have the seal replaced. Not sure why you want to put a turbo on your car already, but we are doing a fully tuned K04-23 kit for the 1.8's.

Default you may be wasting your time and money...

I have it on good authority that the turbo or the turbo internals of the 2002 A4 are K04 based, likely a hybrid. If you don't think this is true I will give you the name and phone\
# of a turbo engineering firm who are experts on this subject.

You can get a chip ($300) , good exhaust(milltek $999) , higher FPR, and new injectors
and approach the kind of performance you "think" you will receive with
the new K04. IMHO I think the engine lacks fuel due to pressure and injector issues, not
boost issues. The current "hybrid" can provide plently of boost if your chip software
allows it. This is only my opinion based on the facts I am aware of.

Default Just a thought...

From what APR is saying, a new FPR will likely be all you will need to fix fuel issues. No need for a new FPR AND new injectors.

Default He already has a GIAC chip and the K03 still uses a K03 housing.

So the K04 will still flow more air no matter what because the housing is bigger inside. BTW your wrong about the lack of fuel with the stock fuel setup. This has been proven while using 310 injectors.

Default I know its true, its been like that since '01.5, '02 wasn't the first to get that. But it's still a

K03 and does not flow as much top end as K04.

Default Only facts can be wrong, opinions are not facts, re-read my post...

My disclaimer was directed to people just like you, who really have no respect
for opinions. Seems to me your statements are opinions too since you are not
an automotive research scientist, and have no "real" facts, you just parrot your
GIAC buddys. Until I see actual Dyno plots in a controlled environment, everyone
is simply spewing opinions, not facts.
