Anyone know what is that yellowish orange stuff on top of the suspension?

Bump stop
This rubber cushion fits over the shock piston shaft and provides a controlled increase in resistance as you approach the limits of suspension travel in bump. The alternative without it is a hard crash of metal against metal, which badly upsets handling and can damage the shock.
