Default They'll last more....

I'm looking to do this in a few months also. The neuspeed race + stock shocks (not even sport) lasted around 20K miles for my old B5.

Install isn't that much, but if you're going to get shocks soon, might as well wait.

Default No I don't, but Hyperspeedy was saying they are similar.

I believe Vegas Cowboy did the research (I believe that's his name).

Default The stock non sport shocks on my 99 Avant were toast after 20k with stock springs......

in fact - they were horrible from the start. Same with the stock shocks in my TT. The performance will degrade way before they are "worn out". However, it's pretty apparent that the actual performance aspect of this discussion isn't really something that is being considered.

Default Also consider that they will lower your car considerably and the stock shock shafts are

designed for much longer springs. Bilstein considers this and that is why they have Bilstein Sports and HD's and the ONLY difference is the Sports have shorter shafts to accommodate the shorter springs.

Default I've been on that for...

.. 33k miles now and it rides fine and doesn't bother me at all. It rides stiff and handles well but not bouncy. It is indeed same spring rate as neuspeed sport just lower. I don't have a problem with it. I think it can last forever! haha.
