That it could be listed like this:
SJ/CF
ACEA A3/B3/B4-02
As opposed to "singly", like this:
SJ
ACEA A3 (or A2)
If it was SJ *or* ACEA A2(A3), then the manual would say it all in one line:
- API Service SJ or ACEA A2 or ACEA A3
But instead it says:
- API Service SJ
- ACEA A2 or ACEA A3
I guess we need someone from AoA who wrote this manual to clear it up for us to be 100% sure.

since for Audi there is no ISLAC GF-2 requirement, which basicly modifies API.(which is key!) API *or* ACEA makes sense because it refers to which continent you are on. An oil like Rotella, which has no GF-2 certification which simply limits phosphorus additives, *is* fine! (with GF-2 is fine as well, the "other" certification) The phosphorous is what gives the EP additive package the oil the ability to work in diesel applications where valvetrain pressures are extreme. The fact that Audi allows the phosphorus content says to me [use it!], because a chipped 1.8t can experience the same type of valvetrain pressures as a diesel!

the specs wrong. Being the stubborn soul that I am, I think I'll just continue to go with my 'wrong' reading of the specs. Just be glad you're not plagued with a stubborn streak like mine.
