Anyone's AM radio reception suck?

I lurk here daily.....yes the Audi is not on my new car short list.
I looking at buying a cross-over vehicle. Leaning more towards Volvo, but may go back to Japanese. I just did a very early retirement and don't need the A4 anymore as it just sits in the garage and decomposes....put 8 gallons of gas in it in 2 months. Time for it to go....

I have a similar problem with poor reception with the stock radio, either AM or FM. The problem seems to only occur with the engine running. If you physically grab the antenna (a "bee stinger"), the reception improves tremendously, implying some sort of a grounding problem with the radio electronics. Any help would be appreciated before I have to take it in to a dealer and get charged my monthly income!
