Apple Signs iPod Pacts w/ Audi
Apple Computer has signed deals with Acura, Audi, Honda and Volkswagen to supply iPod integration with their audio systems in 2006 models.
Apple now offers iPod integration to 15 vehicle brands. The Honda and Acura Music Link iPod integrations will be the first to include text-to-speech capabilities, which is used to search for play lists, artist and album names or genre information. Acura and Honda will feature iPod integration in the majority of their lineup later this year. In November, Audi will feature iPod integration in the A3, A4 and TT models, and Volkswagen will offer iPod integration for the majority of its 2006 U.S. lineup.
More than 30% of vehicles sold in the U.S. next year will offer iPod integration, an Apple official said. Apple Computer is based in San Francisco, CA.
