Default APR chip at BBQ Friday

I think we will see their presentation in the chip wars on Friday. Hopefully it will be something that many of us will be comfortable(ie safe) using in our "babies". Lets hope.

Default I second that. I hope it makes more ....

power than the GIAC chip after all they have stated. I am looking for something that has a flatter torque curve. Can't wait till Friday.

I am hiding the cash from my wife. She want's to buy Guy Buffet? paintings. I want a new ECU, custom exhaust and intake. Give me the package.

Default I would settle for safe more than power

I am already hiding it from my girlfriend. I just want to take them for a ride in my new chipped A4. Also I dont care about more power just a more reliable A/F curve and not sharp spikes at the end of the rev band.

Default Yes, but APR said we would be very happy with the results...

Apr stated that is would be worth the wait. If it is less power than GIAC then I will take the APR mod and go with the GIAC chip. I am expecting more power or at least more usable power. I too am more worried about longevity, especially the clutch. My wife has to learn how to drive a clutch with this car and I am afraid I will go through a clutch. My second worry is how to get to the ECU. It looks like a pain in the ***. I am waiting for a write-up.

But if you chip your car Audi can claim the clutch was not made to handle the power?

Even if you don't chip, do you think Audi would cover a misused or abused clutch? Curious.

Default I would find it hard...

I would find it hard for Audi to claim you are a bad driver. Especially my 120 pund wife-tell that to her face. I have not read the warranty but driving classes are not needed. :-) I let a friend drive my car and I am guessing that the he could make the clutch last 200k miles. I think I am tougher on a transmission? I am just a little confused on how stiff AOA is on warrnty work.
Has anyone been turned down for warranty work?

I just wonder if/how Audi could say sorry your PSI is not stock and that led to the replacement of your clutch. Maybe I am just paranoid but I do not want to put down big bucks for a rebuilt tranny.

I had a Chevrolet with 5 speed and I went through 3 clutches on that thing under warranty. On the 3rd clutch they said we have to charge you because of your record. We said we would take it to a friend mechanic and they balked and took the work under warranty. That GM though, not Audi (I though it was fun to do ..never mind..stupid stuff 16 year old stuff)

Yes I have a record, but that was 9 years ago. Let's not bring up the past-scary :-)
