Default APR Snub Mount on 3.0?

I got in the APR snub mount this week, and haven't had time to try to install it until tonight. I put the car up on ramps, got the splash shield off, and was slightly surprised to see the layout is different from the pictures I've seen before. Apparently, although the 1.8T bracket is mounted to the side of the block (I think that's the tranny, but I didn't look too closely), the 3.0 bracket is mounted to the front. This means, as far as I can tell, that it's practically impossible to get the bracket off the front without probably destroying the original polyurethane part, and probably completely impossible to get the bracket back on with the new snub mount installed. I don't see an easy way (i.e. without moving very large and important parts of the car) to install the snub mount, but I know that some people have done it on 3.0s.

Does anyone have any more information on what needs to be done in order to get the bracket off, then back on with the new snub mount?

If you get it on, please post detailed pics of installation--I'm thinking about doing this myself

Default Yep, the V6 cars are much more complicated to install....I was told by APR t hat the instructions

for the 2.8 are very similar (B5). I believe they had a link on their website for the 2.8L install.

Default i have it on my 3.0...

it was a pain in the ***. the shop was able to get everything out no problem, but you are right, getting it back in with the new poly mount is a pain. you can contact group5 motorsport in san diego for info if you want. thats who installed mine.

http://www.group5motorsport.com</a

I got an email back from Group 5, per your suggestion. Unfortunately, their response was only that they brute forced it in. They had to loosen up all sorts of mounts and force it apart as much as possible to get it in; there's no secret or trick to it.

This doesn't give me hope.

Default all the slop from the shifter...

is gone! combined with a short-shifter, it makes changing gears much tighter and crisper.
