Default Argh! So Pissed! Freakin Gfb!!!

<center><img src="http://www.movietelling.com/GFB.jpg"></center><p>
ok so here is my crude drawing of my GFB HYBRID BOV.

the way i initially installed my GFB with the CHARGED AIR on the side marked "A"

and when i let off the throttle the charged air is rerouted back into the intake tract through "B"

is this the right way to install the DV?

i installed it this way and the car felt SOOOO SLUGGISH!!!

it also showed a CEL!!!

so i thought maybe i installed it backwards...
so after i installed so that the CHARGED AIR was on the "B" side and the rerouted air went in through the "A" side.

i drove the car and it felt GREAT!

but for some reason it wont vent...

ARGH!!!

it just flutters

ANY THOUGHTS?!?!?

ARGH!!!

btw... i have an 04.5 CVT non quattro

Exactly, I ran it in my 02 for about 6 months with great results and no problems.

Default ummm...what exactly do you mean... im a little confused... *MORE*

half way open? spring wound tight?

lets say the spring tensioner is just "catching" on the spring.... so basically at the loosest setting... from that point... how many FULL TURNS should i tighten the valve?

Default There are 2 setting you need to play with ...

The first is the BPV/BOV setting. I think there are about 14 clicks from open to closed here and mine was at 6 from closed initially and increased to 10 later on.

The second is the spring tension. I think that there was a bout 2 1/2 turns from loose to tight. I had mine 2 or more turns to tight.

The result is that the BOV would really only open at high boost (according to my guage somewhere between 10 and 12 psi and up) and when it did it released a bunch of air.

I had a long discussion with the guys at GFB about this and the only thing that I did tagainst their suggestion was the adjustment from 6 up to 10 clicks toward BOV in what they call the "volume control".
