maybe that explains it. None of the A4 models here have the extra interior lights that you get atandard over in the US. However, there is a cheap option on the list that gives an extra interior light package. Illuminated centre armrest (front) is part of that besides lights in footwells, underneath each door, cupholder, door openers and vent controllers as well as vanity mirrors and the two LEDs for centre dash illumination.

As far as pics go, I don't have a digital camera, and it makes it hard to get pics on these occasions fast

I have checked every A4 on the lot (over a long time). At least since December (01) that I started looking, these lights are not included in A4s even not in the 3.0Q. Part of these lights (like illuminated vanity mirrors) are standard on A3s! All of the package is standard on A6. It cost me AUD400 to get the package, and I love it.

If you picked your car up from dealer's stock, there's a good chance the option was already included in that car. Dealers order varied options for their stock cars, but include the cost in the price.
