Default ATTN APR (or anyone else who knows): how much would one stock injector be for a 1.8T 2003?

my dealer is installing a new ECU (stock) in the car to see if my problem recurrs.

APR - if you are reading - I have been having faults (i don't recall the actual codes at the moment). But the dealer is replacing with a stock ECU to see if the problem recurrs in the rain, as it has been religiously during every rain. They are wondering if the rain is somehow getting into the box and throwing the codes.

Anyway, if it turns out to happen again with the stock ECU, then we know it isn't the problem. But if it doesnt happen again, after say 2 or 3 rains, then I will have to send the chipped ECU box back to you guys for review.

If it was in fact allowing moisture to get into it to throw the CEL, ESP and EPC on (it was throwing a brake code, an accelerator pedal code, and a intermittent signal to the ECM code), what do you guys do to stand behind the workmanship of the actual work done?

At any rate, and as I told the dealer, I doubt at this point it was anything to do with the ECU, being that it hadn't happened before in the rain, even after 10's of thousands of miles of driving, including rain. I suspect it has to do with the brakes because the lights come on in heavy rain, and when I apply the brakes. I go into limp mode. It only started happening after I got the front brakes replaced on the 30,000 mile check up. So don't worry as of yet, I still doubt it was APR fault, but just keep a heads up.

So anyway, I am missing one of my old stock injectors and I need to know how much one costs. Once they put in the stock ECU, I need to replace the bigger injectors with the stock injectors so I dont throw any lean/rich codes. But I can only find three.

By the way, I am the guy you did at waterfest with the black 03 1.8T, the one who was there because when you guys originally did my ECU, you programmed it to Stage 1, instead of Stage 1 PLUS. It was throwing me lean/rich codes due to the wrong software installed. You guys fixed it at Waterfest. It's been perfect since.

Default Oh, man, with a face like yours I wouldn't be hurling "descriptions" at anybody else. Yikes!

On the APR problem 1) check to make sure your installer didn't get lazy and just RIP OUT the back ECU screw. That'd cause a leak right into either the ECU or your feet. Feet dry, ECU's short, and as tied together as all the electronics are, you can get some strange gremlins. 2) Get a dealer to air freight you the extra injector. Besides, if it's in their shop already, how are they NOT going to find out the car's been tweaked? They're going to install the new, stock ECU, run diagnostics, and immediately get the rich codes.

Default well.....

the dealer knows I am chipped. They actually did open the box and see the chip. so that is not a concern as much.....i just know that in order for that stock ECU to run the car properly, i need the regular injectors back in...i am missing one.

but the installer was APR themselves at Waterfest last summer. At least thats when they were fixing the problem that was caused prior to, by APR when the programmed the ECU box wrong.

Before that was NGP Racing in Aberdeen Maryland. So the crack could have been anybody.

But in their defense, it has rained plenty before and never happened. So I am not accusing anyone shop until I get some results after I have the stock ECU in for a few rains.

On a side note, the dealer would have noticed if the housing was cracked, i would think and mademention of that before replacing the ECU (But you never know)....

anyway, thanks a million for your input!

Hopefully, then, APR can send you a stock spare.
