Default Audi A4 3.0 2003 CVT

Hey Guys,

I was wondering have any of you guys have any news about a GAIC chip that will be coming out for the 3.0 CVT? I know there a 1.8T comming out but I havent heard of anything about the 3.0, any information is greatly appreciated it. Thanx.

Most of the chips out there are for the 1.8T. I don't know of too many available for the 3.0 engine, and the ones I do know of are only for European 3.0 manual versions (ie; Wett & Upsolute)

Besides, I'm not too sure whether increasing the HP or torque is a wise idea on a 3.0 CVT because the CVT transmission has some torque limitations inherit in its design. Do a search, but Audi officials has come outright and stated what the torque limit is. I forget, it's something like 230-240. You may have a very losing battle with AoA if there are any service problems with your engine/transmission under warranty. Probably more so, than just a regular 1.8T chip.

you don't wanna chip your 3.0, max torque that the tranny can handle is about 225lb i think

Default everything i read was 230 lb and that motor is 220, but a chip wont' add as much as on a 1.8, (more)

naturally asspirated care don't get the hugh increases, we get lots of quick easy power due to the boost increase. Depending on drivind style, you could chip a 3.0 cvt , if you were just going for the bettermpg, and didn't really beat on it. I wouldn't chip either though

Default Chips aren';t worth it for non-turbo engines. Nominal improvment in performance,...

but the benefits will not outweigh the costs, which are potential mechnical problems and warranty issues.

Thanx for the heads up. So us 3.0 CVT folks are pretty much stuck with what we have then huh?
