Hi
I have a 01 Audi A4 B6.
Occasionally while driving the ESP light is coming on and staying on. It doesn't switch off by pressing the esp button but disappears after the car has been switched off and switched back on.
Is this a sensor issue? or normal behavior?
I am completely new to Audi's so dont know much about their normal behavior and common issues?
Thanks in advance for any comments

Not normal. If it is slippery, the light will flash when ESP is intervening, but will go right back off. Assuming it does not have any lighting mods (aftermarket ballast installation location can cuase issues with ESP), you will have to download codes to determine what sensor is causing the issue. May help with your central locking issue as well

Need to get myself a vag-com. Do you just buy the cable for your pc and then buy the software from rosstech? or does the cable come with software?
Not sure what too look for when buying one of these. Advice would be appreciated!!

This is where I got mine:
http://www.alpha-bid.com/vagusb.html
Also, you can get a "free" version of the software from Ross tech, or at least you used to be able to. The full version opens up some faults as well as the ability to "log" the engine, i.e. collect data on nemerous engine parameters.
