Do you see oil pooling under the car or covering the front sway bar on the passenger side? If not, I would worry about it. My cam seals where leaving a small spot under the car before I fixed them. I have had no problems with the tranny.

Transmission leak is a must. You don't want a transmission that isn't able to lubricate itself efficiently.

True if it is pooling under the car and you get low on tranny fluid especially since checking the fluid level in the tranny or diff is difficult. A lot of times, shops are looking to make money and will recommend work if they only see traces of oil on the transmission. I have had my Mercedes dealer recommend a diff seal leak fix for 7 years. It now has 205K miles on it. Hence my question regarding how big the leak is.
