Probably because I buy pro grade tools only and not cheap crap like Craftsman or Husky, but that's a different arguement.
None the less, I have never seen anyone install a drain plug with an impact either. (Although, I have had to remove some of the old 1.8T's drain plugs using that matter when the old ones had a 17mm head but a huge threaded area.)
There are very few fasteners that are known to seize on these cars. Oil filters stick, it's a fact. If you're going to tell me that it's because they are installed incorrectly then I guess they build them wrong from the factory as well.
