The dash kit from autotoys is really expensive. Is this the same one as the one from<A HREF="http://www.installer.com/kits/99-9101.jpg">
Installer.com</A>. The second one says it is for the A6, but I have heard from others that it works and it is much cheaper. Are they same? Are they made by Metra?

Metra 99-9102 is the # on the bag it came in. I doubt A6 would just fit right in, and cutting/modifying defeats the purpose. I have seen it for as much as half what autotoys charges; unfortunately that's after I'd already bought it from autotoys.

I have no idea; since I'd already bought it I didn't pay attention. I just stumbled on it google-ing

There is a site that has the faceplate, wiring harness, and the VW53 antenna adapter as a kit for like $39... no ****. I can't for the life of me remember where, but I know I found it when looking for the VW53 adapter when friggen autotoys sent me the wrong one. That's when I got ticked that not only did they send the wrong antenna adapter, but I'd spent $68 on a metra faceplate... so maybe start your search by inputting "VW53". I know that's how I found at least one place dirt cheap for the same dang thing.
