Default Re: He's talking about a used TL...

Yes, hence the need to wait a yr or 2 to get the 04 model TL. read much?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the new ('04) TL already has a whompin engine, no need to have a Type S format in that thing.

Holy crap! A '04 TL type S! The beast's got 270HP. I don;t think you could put anymore HP on a front wheel drive car.

Default Stay away from the Acura...

I had a TL before getting my Audi and was on the verge of having to replace the tranny. Great car overall, very safe in an accident, but they have a major tranny defect that Acura will not issue a recall on. Acura did extend the warranty, but still never fixed the problem. I had friends who went through three or four replacement transmissions before dumping the car.

Default Heh...

LOL sorta skimmed and replied before completely reading ur message.

Yes, I totally agree - there is no way to make a Type S while keeping it FWD.

Default pssh.. all car manufacturers have their lemons.

My Audi didn't go in for any non-warranty service for the first two years of ownership.

My co-workers brand new Acura MDX has already been in the shop for 14 days during its first 100 days of owners for both warranty service and dealer caused warranty service.

Default I don't get it.. why do people think that FWD is bad?

Its not bad, its just different. And your statement about Acura being a glorified Honda, well they can say the same things about Audis being glorified VWs.

We know they aren't, so why make the statement that an Acura is a glorified Honda? And yes, I am aware that Acura is a brand name Honda that only exists in the US, the Acura and Honda that are available are different in some areas, especially the new TL.

Default Are you talking new TL or used TL-S?

Either way, I'd buy the Acura for a driver who wants a reliable nice car and doesn't care much about driving feel. Obviously there's exceptions, but in general Acura is a much more trouble-free ownership experience vs Audi.

Course, it's got no road feel, and it's a big FWD boat. But your wife won't care

Default Re: Heh... MotorWeek

I think Motroweek said it best, too much HP (270HP) in a FWD. Also, causes way too much Torque steer at 240lb/ft,

Looks good tho, IMO.
