on another note, i have an 02 A4 quattro (60K mi) and last week the water pump went out on me and i had a gasket seal going bad. I didnt expect much, but spoke to the dealer about the water pump being covered under the extened warranty and basicly got laughed at. I pretty much expected that, so i went to brians garage. I got the water pump, timing belt ( might as well since they to disassemble for the water pump)and the gasket seals for 850, The dealer was quopting me 1500. Fortuantly i noticed thewater pump problem before total failure so avoided any engine damage!!! the audi adventures continue!

Nope, they made it clear that they wouldnt. I could have fought over it, but i needed it fixed ASAP as i drive a lot.
edit: yes i have an AOA extended warranty, any luck i might be able to go back to AOA after the fact and get some sort of reimbersment?

Actually i went to paul miller in NJ. I bought the car 1.5 yrs ago when i lived in Northern NJ and was down there visiting family when i notice ththe engine problems. i was supposed to be back in Mass the next day so stopped by Paul miller and as i said they said NOPE. Maybe it wasnt the best secision long term, but i just needed it fixed so i drove home that night while keeping an eye on the engine temp and the sound and got fixed by brians the next day...

from one of the dealers around here. So, is the issue all fixed? Or, did you just get a quote from Brian's and you're going to do the work yourself?
On a side note, you must be a Chemical Engineer. I'm a MechEng. You guys are crazy
