I already changed the cabin air filter but the smell coming from the vents persists, whenever I run the ventilation in Econ mode. Smell subsides when the AC (cooling) is turned on. Any ideas on what causes the smell and more importantly, specific solutions? Thanks!

filter's working fine, i just replaced the cabin filter , and hoped the smell would go away but it hasn't.
is there a DIY way to clean the air ducts?

a spray called "Odor Gun" (or something similar). It's a super strong unscented odor neutralizer. I pulled my filter and sprayed a small amount into the system while the AC was on full blast. I did this 2 months ago and the smell has not returned.

Now I have 3 choices: Frigi-fresh, Klima-Cleaner, or AirSept (AirSept is the most expensive, since the applicator costs $130 or something, and you need access to a compressed air hose).
Anyone had any experience using at least 2 out of these three? Which would you recommend? At any rate, thanks for all these excellent suggestions!
