Default bad to replace just one side ball bearing joint?

so i had my car in the shop for repairs and they had to replace a "knuckle joint" which involves bearings, i assume its the ball bearings that i read about here. but they only replaced one side, is that bad?

i ask because i have been getting an intermittent tractoin control warning light. it will come on and stay for a few driving cycles and then off for a few. my check engine light is on almost constantly now (went away last night but came back today).

Default Hmm.. sounds unrelated to me...

and no, since there is no labor savings from doing both sides at once, wait for the other side to wear out...
