BAM! 2 down, 2 to go... Two CP diagnosed as failed and 2 replaced... A few weeks ago,

I got a flashing CEL and rough idle. The light quit and idle smoothed out in 30 seconds. I was near the dealer today and decided to ask them to read the codes from the CPU. Turned out that I had two bad coils and got both replaced with J's. They refused to give me all 4 despite the recent Audi directive about 2 coils failing = all 4 replaced. They only replace all 4 if you have two separate visits for coil problems. Two at one time does not qualify you for getting all 4 (according to them).....:>( Other than that I like my dealer. Decent people and nice waiting room. Even washed my car (despite the fact that I would rather do it myself).
While I was waiting for my car, a guy was driven in on a flat bed (3.0). Told the CP story and then pulled THE letter out of his pocket and said "I got this this morning".... They gave him a new Toyota Camry and sent him on his way...
My car runs a bit smoother now. What I really notice is the resonance at around 2100 seems very different. At first I thought it was gone altogether, but it is not. I think it just occurs in a much smaller band. It is almost hard to keep the engine at the precise revs to make it happen
for long. Before, I hated being in or around the 2100 range and had to shift or change speed to make the vibration go away. Those of you with the resonance problem may want to ask your dealer to read the codes from your car. You may have a bad CP that has not failed yet.

WOW! I wonder if that's AoA's position or a misunderstanding on your dealers part. I would have called AoA Customer NonService to see if they would have authorized the replacement while you were there. If it's AoA's position, I think it's time to pronounce that train wreck of a management team dead. They sure seem to know how to throw wood a fire.
