Default Bar to PSI conversion. NOTE: 1 bar = 14.5 psi not 14.7 psi

1 bar = 100 000 Pa

Pa = N/m^2

100 000Pa / 9.807 (Gravity) = 10 196 kg/m^2

10 196 kg/m^2 x 2.20462 = 22 480.06 lb/m^2

22 480.06 lb/m^2 / 1550.003 = 14.503 lb/in^2 or psi

Default Obvious.... I think not when I have seen 1 bar = 14.7psi countless times. Plus their have been tons

of guys at shows that have no idea of what they're talking about when relating bar to psi. plus if you look at yesterdays posts their were a few cases of posters relating to bar then coverting wrong into psi.

Default Ok, I admit my mistake. You are right 1 bar = 14.50326 psi. The confusion comes from the fact....

That the air in the atmosphere as a weight of 14.7 pounds pushing in all directions, 14.7 psi. Yes, a column of air 1 inch by 1 inch by 60 miles weighs 14.7 lbs, at sea level and at a temperature of 15 Celsius (59 F). Also it will support a column of Mercury 1 inch by 1 inch by 29.92 inches in height. I hope that satifies you.

A technical atmosphere is 1.02 bar, and a physical atmosphere (the unit 'atm') is 0.9869 bar.

how many GPM of water will 14.5 psi push through a 1" outside diameter hose with 1/8" thick wall at a 38 degree angle at 72 degrees F?
