you'll have to reenter the security code into your radio
and you might have to reenter memory settings like seats (if you have memory seats), mirrors etc....VAG-COM settings should stay the same iirc

about a month ago on mine.
so it lasted a little over 3 years.
damn thing cracked on me, spilling battery acid all over my transmssion case, dripping down onto the floor.
mechanic replaced it with an interstate.

My dealer replaced mine under warranty at 46k miles....
of course I may have reduced the battery life when I ran my stereo for 3 hours while detailing the day before it died.

ahh didn't notice that - but still, if your like me as soon as I say something has never...
given me any trouble it goes ahead and breaks shortly thereafter. It's as if it likes to prove me wrong!

should be with your car's documentation somewhere
they've got a card for it w/ the radio manual, and my dealer writes the code on that card and puts the sticker w/ the code in the trunk area by the spare tire (just incase someone loses the card...
