Default Bay Area ***. fee cont'd - April/other dealers, pls. advice

I'm about to close the deal, but my last stumbling block is a fee that my dealer wants to add, which other dealers in the area are not including. (Got confirmation from forum users.)

The salesperson claims it's a "Bay Area Association Fee." He's been rather vague, saying "it's part of the invoice" but when I said that, in that case, it was already included in the invoice he said "no, it's in addition to invoice". He claims that "every Audi car has this fee", and that is just not true. Can anyone in the know confirm this?

It's only $150 and this amount will not make or break the deal, but I'd hate to be ripped off with fees that plainly do not exist.

Thanks to all... I'm SO close, I can't wait to get my ride!

Default I didn't have an Assoc. (better abbr.) fee. Tell him the other dealers don't charge that. (more)

Talk to the Sales Manager and demand more info on what this fee pays for.

I've never heard of that before.

Default Hmmmmm. In city and urban areas, Audi charges 1% of the invoice cost for

advertising in magazines, TV, and newspapers. If they are unwilling to show the invoice to you, I would be very careful.

"Milch" if you're out there - did you pay this on your deal?

Default no, its for real.

My dealer showed me the invoice on the car I am buying and its listed as an Advertising Association Reimbursment. I also saw something on Edmunds or Carpoint about this fee.
