Default BHVRDR.... any problems with pinging or inconsistent power from the MTM?

Especially in high heat conditions? Just curious as there has been one person saying that their NS sk04 kit is pinging.

Default Not one and it's been in the 90s here. I use copper plugs in the same...

heat range and have been running your basic Mobil 93 octane gas. On occasion I run Toluene mixed to equate to about 98 octane. Never had any problems with pinging on 93 with the stock heat range plugs. That includes track conditions. I do notice a little heat soak at times, even with the dual intercoolers and am considering the benefits of a FMIC. Cheers! Mike

Default Just took a snapshot of them...I am using the Denso K20PBR...

I have used Densos in both my Audis and never had a problem. I have also run the NGKs because a lot of people recommended them. I like the side triple grounding of the Denso and the fact it's very hard to mess up the gap (.032) although it logs the same as the NGK coppers. Cheers! Mike

Default Sounds good. Do you know if the MTM software...

takes into account the Knock sensor as well as the o2 sensor and MAF? There's soem debate over on AZ that the NS software is fixed and doesn't really adapt well especially when pinging starts to occur. More specifically, it doesn't retard timing as it should.

Default yes on all accounts. you can definitely feel a timing retard in the heat....

I have an O2 code being thrown, but the stock computer will not necessarily retard timing based on a bad O2 sensor. My performance has not been affected by the O2 code, which BTW, is not related to the MTM software. It's related to my cat no longer being present. If I clear the code, it stays clear for a couple weeks, but sometimes i dont even bother to clear it. Cheers!

Default It'll be awhile. I think I'm waiting to see what comes out for MTM and APR.

Probably late this year or early next year, depending on the timeline for MTM, Dahlback, APR in releasing their high hp kits. In the meantime, I'm still working on other handling/braking mods and getting some DSP-N solo2 time in.

Default I notice some....

I have some pinging under load [WOT]. It's just for a split second (usually 1st, 2nd gear). Not all the time though. I also notice some power loss when pushing hard for a while and higher ambient temps. It also feels hesitant in 1st and 2nd gear. It kind of chokes/lerches unless I push it more. Seems to change sometimes and be more obvious when cold. It's not the DVR, because it was noticeable before that. I also ran Beru Ultra plugs before changing to the BOSCH Super from Eurocode Tuning. Pinging only seemed to show up the day I was pushing my car while bedding the brakes. Ambient temps were higher then too. I can feel the loss of power when outdoor temps are in the 90's. Heat soak is real. Once the car is moving, it improves.
