heat on makes no difference coolant flows through the heater core regardless

Default orly? so the air path is just redirected through the core during heat?

no wonder this motor is easy to cool down

Default yup.. also why the fan does not blow on high speed until the car is warmed up

and slowly increases as the coolant temp goes up. So it doesn't blow cold air at you for one, and two so it doesn't slow down the warming up of the engine.

Don't work on alot of old audis.. but last VW I know to have a cut off to the heater core was the rabbit. maybe a fox or something that carried through the change over..

Default The ones with digital control have that setup. My 1990 Coupe had it.

Obviously, manual heater control cars can't do that.
