Default Blindspot mirror replacement?

What are people using, if anything, for blindspot mirrors? For a long time I've used the ghetto fabulous cheapos, found at gas stations and carwashes, with adhesive straight to the mirror. Some of them don't look bad (hardly notice them), but the latest ones I've had for a while and they are no longer functional (they somehow got a bunch of fine little scratches on them). So before I go out and bust the bank for some new $2.99 mirrors, does anyone have any better (albeit more expensive) alternatives? I've done a search and the "euro blind spot mirrors" seems to be popular, but I have auto-dim/heated mirrors, and it seems like they'd be too expensive for that.

By the way in case you're wondering, I know we don't technically NEED to have blindspot mirrors, but I've found them very helpful a few times, where I otherwise might have hit someone or crashed into them (even after looking over my shoulder). I use it as an added safety, not as a replacement for due regard for lane-changing.

Default You can get Euro mirrors that don't auto-dim; otherwise they are expensive...

Unless you hapen to find a good deal Non auto-dimming Euro mirrors are still heated, by the way.

Default ECS has them, the non auto-dimming ones.

I'm quite sure vagparts.com would have the auto-dimming ones too, if you feel like spending a bit more money.
I don't know who sells for the cheapest though, unfortunately.

I been using the OEM euro mirrors. Very happy with the setup. Makes lane changes a lot safer.

Default I have the OEM euro-blindspot heated and autodimming...

I grabbed from eBay Germany (search for "audi spiegel" which translates to "Audi mirror"). It is a great safety enhancement, since there really is no blindspot anymore. I can actually merge onto a highway without turning my head (although I still do anyway out of habit).

Here is what I have on the A6 now...

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v739/hliu55/mirrorafter.jpg">

and for comparison, this is the same view before with the stock mirror...

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v739/hliu55/mirrorbefore.jpg">

I got the pair, heated, autodimming, blindspot feature on the driver side only, passenger side does not have the "objects are closer than they appear" warning, for about $175 shipped.

Notice in the blindspot mirror (top image) how I can see the back end of the maroon car next to me, while the front end of the car is visible beyond the mirror.

The only drawback is tht it took me a week to get used to this mirror...I felt cross-eyed a couple of times, but you learn to focus on the outer 1/3 onyl when you need it.

The same seller I got this (an many other sets that I have resold) has the B6 version every now and then, but they usually get snagged pretty quickly.
