Pluses and minuses
The cradle may be in the way of some passengers, but really, only the ones with long legs, but it holds the phone firmly in place for dialing and viewing caller ID for incoming calls. I suppose you could just take your phone out of your pocket to look at caller ID and dial, but I don't always wear a shirt with a pocket. This way, I know where my phone will be at all times.
Plus, the kit is connected to an antenna, so the signal is almost never lost, especially in places where I've lost signals when using the phone without the cradle.
The kit was just over $110 when I bought it, so it was cheaper than Bluetooth, which wasn't readily available when I was in the market for it.
Pluses and minues.

Well, the caller ID thing is no argument...
My BT kit is voice controlled to dial, receive and hang up, en reads caller ID's aloud for incomming calls. Its a real handsfree solution.
You are right about the antenna thing though. But the (European GSM) wireless networks are so dense even without an external antenna I always have maximum reception.
(And its also wired to the phone mute of the radio btw)

All these new fangled phones around here. :)
I have voice dialing on my "old" Nokia, but I actually have to press a button first before I speak the name of the person I want to dial.
On the BT phones, it sounds like you don't need to do something on the phone. Do you simply say "Dial" and it knows that the next thing you say will be the number or name of the person you want to dial? What if it hears the word "Dial" (Or whatever key word used to initiate a voice dial) from the radio or a regular conversation?
I don't have a BT phone, so pardon my ignorance.
And you definitely got me beat on the caller ID thing. The old phone doesn't speak out the number. Does it actually say the number or try to say the name of the incoming caller?

Re: All these new fangled phones around here. :)
Yeah, you first say a 'magic word' to get the carkits attention . You can use/learn it any word you want, but "dial" or "phone" is the logical choice.
After that, it beeps one time and you can say the name of the person you want to dial. And after that you specify on what number (home, office, mobile). Then it starts dialing.
Pretty simple.
It won't get confusing if you use "dial" in everyday speech, you have to really explicitly say the word.

I had a nokia GSM phone on the same provider
there is a review of the T610/T616 on mobile.burn.com and they also made the comment that the 1900mhz pickup of this model is poor. In my area 99% of the towers are 1900mhz.
On 850/900/1800mhz there is much better pickup. It must be phone related, and im hoping a new firmware update might solve this issue.
If not i may get the new motorola phone with BT when it arrives later this year.
