Default boost problem

this is the deal. i have no boost. the car feels like a normal 4cyl. i hit the gas and the car is a slug. i do not hear any leaks from any of the hoses and i barely hear the turbo spooling. what the hell can it be?

Default limp mode...

many limp mode culprits do not immediately trigger a CEL. Vag the car and you will likely find a code that can point you in the right direction. Let us know the code and we can go from there. Does anything change if you restart the car? cheers! Mike

Default nothing changes if i restart the car. i am going to have a friend..

come over and run the vag on it. i checked most of the hoses and everything looks like is it ok. if indeed it is in limp mode what exactly does that mean and how would i go about correcting it? thanks in advance

Default depends on the culprit...

most likely a boost leak or vacuum leak (not what you want to hear, but usually not very costly). Could always be a bad MAF as well. I had one go and not throw a code. Could also be overboost. You'll have a better idea after you vag. cheers! Mike

Default I had a similar problem.....m....

Car acted just as you describe, a 4 banger. BUT, I heard a sssssshhhhhhhh sound when I expected the turbo to start working. Pulled codes: no codes. Took it to the dealer, where my suspiscion of a loose hose was confirmed. Dealer fixed it, pulls like a champ now.
